Privacy Policy — Bowl

Effective 3 September 2026.

Bowl does not collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server. This policy exists because the App Store requires one, and because “we collect nothing” deserves to be said precisely rather than vaguely.

What Bowl stores

Everything Bowl knows lives on your device, inside the app’s own container. Specifically:

• The name you gave your fish, when it hatched, and — when the time comes — when and how it died.
• The times you fed it and cleaned its bowl.
• Which Bowl widgets have been on your screen, and what size they were. This is how the game works: widget size determines how long a fish lives.
• A record of previous fish, so the app can show your lineage.
• Whether you have purchased Full Tank.

None of this is transmitted anywhere. There is nowhere for it to go: Bowl contains no networking code of any kind.

What leaves your device

Two things, both only when you choose them:

• A purchase. If you buy Full Tank, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store. Bowl never sees or stores your payment details, and receives only a yes-or-no answer about whether the purchase exists. Apple’s own privacy policy governs that transaction.
• A share card. If you tap Share on a memorial, Bowl renders an image on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice, and Bowl is not told.

Notifications

If you turn on the feed reminder, Bowl schedules it locally on your device. It is not a push notification: no token is registered, no server is involved, and nothing about your fish is sent anywhere in order to deliver it.

Third parties

There are none. Bowl includes no third-party SDKs, no analytics library, no crash reporter, and no advertising framework. It does not use the advertising identifier, does not request tracking permission, and does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.

Children

Bowl collects no data from anyone, including children. It is rated 9+ because a pet in Bowl can die, which some younger players may find upsetting — not because of any data practice.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything, permanently and immediately. Because none of it was ever copied off your device, there is nothing left anywhere for us to delete on your behalf, and no request you need to send us. There is also no way to recover a fish once the app is gone.

Changes to this policy

If Bowl ever changes what it stores or sends, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date above will change with it.
